Usage Note 31203: Direct ODBC data sources cannot be modified in SAS® Enterprise Guide® 4.1
A direct ODBC link in SAS Enterprise Guide cannot be modified after it is created. You create a direct ODBC link by selecting File ► Open ► ODBC. . . in SAS Enterprise Guide. The software then opens the Microsoft ODBC Administrator to create the DSN links.
The problem occurs when you attempt to modify this link after it is created. The information cannot be changed, and SAS Enterprise Guide does not invoke the ODBC administrator.
To circumvent the problem, create a library using the SAS Enterprise Guide Explorer or a code node that has the libref for ODBC in it.
The problem has been fixed in SAS®Enterprise Guide® 4.2.
